Handing over medical consignment to the Commonwealth of Dominica

On behalf of the people and government of India, Mr. Arun Kumar Sahu, High Commissioner of India to Trinidad and Tobago with concurrent accreditation to Commonwealth Dominica, handed over the medical consignment to the people and government of Commonwealth Dominica. Dr. Irving McIntyre, Hon. Minister for Health, Wellness and New Health Investment of Dominica received the consignments at a virtual ceremony.

Minister McIntyre was accompanied by Mr. Kent Edwards, Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry of Health, Wellness and New Health Investment, Mrs. Letitia Lestrade-Wyke, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health, Wellness and New Health Investment were present at the event.

Minister McIntyre expressed his appreciation of India’s support in this time of the fight against the Coronavirus pandemic. He reiterated their willingness to work with India even more closely for the betterment of people of both countries. High Commissioner underlined that the relationship between India and the Commonwealth Dominica is on a solid foundation and during this time of COVID-19 pandemic, India has made special efforts to express solidarity with her friends across the globe. Following up on Foreign Minister Dr S. Jaishankar’s telephonic conversation with his counterpart on 30th April this year, the medical supply Including much-needed paracetamol and hydroxychloroquine has been supplied for the use of the government and people of Commonwealth Dominica during these trying times. He hoped that both governments would work even more closely in future.            --
