DR. PRADEEP SINGH RAJPUROHIT

Dr. Pradeep Singh Rajpurohit is a career diplomat who joined the Indian Foreign Service in 2004. He assumed the charge of High Commissioner of India to the Republic of Trinidad & Tobago on October 6, 2023. Prior to this, Dr. Rajpurohit served as Director General (Joint Secretary) for the Middle East Region (West Asia & North Africa) in the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India (July 2021 – September 2023). 

Dr Rajpurohit has served as Ambassador of India to the Republic of Iraq (2017 - 2019) and Deputy Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (2019-2020). He also headed Political Section at the Indian Embassy in Berlin, Germany (2014-2017). He was Second Secretary at the Indian Embassy in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (2008-2011) and Third Secretary at Indian Embassy in Cairo, Egypt (2006-2008). He also earned a Diploma in Arabic Language from the American University in Cairo.

At the headquarters of the Ministry of External Affairs in New Delhi, Dr. Rajpurohit served as Director in India’s multilateral neighbourhood BIMSTEC & SAARC Division (2020- 2021) and Deputy Secretary dealing with India’s development cooperation projects in developing countries (2012-2014).

Dr. Rajpurohit is a Medical Graduate (MBBS) from Dr. S. N. Medical College, Jodhpur, India and briefly worked in the health sector before joining the Indian Foreign Service.

He is married to Manju Rajpurohit and has two daughters and a son. He is fluent in English and Hindi and has working knowledge of Arabic.
