High Commission of India wishes condolences to Pandit Dr. Deokinanan Sharma

The High Commission expresses heartfelt condolences on the demise of Pandit Dr Deokinanan Sharma, former President of National Council of Indian Culture (NCIC) and a committed, selfless exemplary leader of the Indian diaspora. On behalf of NCIC, he received the Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Award from the Government of India in 2008. He was also an Scholarship awardee of the Indian Council of Cultural Relations (ICCR) and played a key role in preserving and promoting Indian culture in Trinidad & Tobago, as well as in the region. May almighty rest the departed soul in heavenly abode and give strength to his family in this difficult time.
